Princess tea party

In honor of World Princess Week, I wanted to share this princess tea party my friend and I put together for our girls a while back.

I already had a ton of princess stuff, so we didn’t really buy anything other than the food and flowers. I went overboard with the menu (as usual) because I wanted as many princesses represented as possible in the princess tea party, but you can definitely pick and choose for yours.

We had the girls wear princess dresses and tiaras, and I decorated with princess dolls and various other princess items I had in the house. I saw the balloon at the grocery store when I was picking up the flowers, and I thought it was perfect. We used juice for the “tea.”

The menu for this princess tea party was:
Starfish sandwiches (Ariel)
Pepperoni roses (Belle)
Pizza braid (Rapunzel)
Snowflake cakes (Elsa)
Make it pink/make it blue fruit dip (Aurora)
Cinderella’s pumpkins
Gray stuff (Belle)
Bibbidi Bobbidi Blueberry scones

We bought some of the items, including the scones, but for the sandwiches I just made cheese sandwiches and used a cookie cutter. The snowflake cakes were white cake cut into snowflakes using a cookie cutter, decorated with light blue buttercream and snowflake sprinkles. I made the pumpkins out of mandarin oranges with pieces of celery, and the fruit dip was yogurt mixed with Cool Whip and a little food coloring (I had planned to use pitaya powder and blue spirulina powder but I couldn’t find it).

For the braided pizza, I put pizza sauce and mozzarella cheese on unbaked puff pastry and braided it using the method shown in this post. Then I baked it until nice and golden. For the gray stuff, I crushed some Oreos and mixed it together with Cool Whip until it looked gray (although I accidentally added too much), then served it in little 3-oz glasses.

I thought about putting the fruit onto skewers to make wands, but I thought that might be too dangerous considering how young the girls are. I had also planned on making little rice bowls for Mulan, but I didn’t think we needed more food!
