Thanksgiving layers

This is the kind of outfit that really isn’t necessary in San Diego, but perfect for a snowy Thanksgiving in Detroit.

I’m not a fan of cold weather, but I do love warm, fuzzy flannels, wooly sweaters and boots.

Especially when the sweater is bedazzled and the boots are covered in flowers.

As you know, we spent Thanksgiving morning running in the snow in Motown. Then we spent the afternoon and evening at my parents’ house, with my grandpa, uncle and aunt.

And no, we did not start shopping until today. I was too exhausted to do much of anything Thursday night, honestly, and there were plenty of great deals to be had this morning (we didn’t even need to get up at the crack of dawn!). I hope all those who celebrated had a great day — and that you all have lots to be thankful for.

  1. Where in Detroit are you? I grew up in one of the burbs north of the D. Happy Thanksgiving! Also your bourbon brown sugar pecan sauce is delicious on pumpkin pie! (especially when you forget to add sugar to the pie!)

    1. Rochester Hills. I’m so happy you liked the sauce! My mom forgot to put sugar in the cranberries one year, and they were inedible. I’m glad you guys were still able to eat the pecan pie!
