The September issue!

I may have a slight Vogue problem.

Only slight, though. I mean, owning 13 years worth of magazines is totally normal, right?

Anyway. The September issue is the most important (and the heaviest) issue of the year. It is epic. There is even a fabulous documentary about it.

But oddly, Halle Berry is the non-white woman to appear on the September cover in more than a decade — the first black woman since September 1989. WTF, Vogue? Of course she looks amazing (is it possible for her NOT to look amazing?).  I am slightly creeped out by the fact that her haircut here is so similar to Vogue editor Anna Wintour’s signature style, though.

But, in honor of the gorgeous Halle and the ad-filled behemoth that is the September issue, I give you 13 years of fall fashion. Well, 12. I can’t seem to find the Sept. 2005 with SJP on the cover at the moment. Sorry.

Which is your favorite? You can click on the thumbnail to see the larger image. I specifically remember seeing the 2000 one in the UGA bookstore and being super excited about it (perhaps because I love a good tweed?). But I think I may have to pick the 2001 cover, with the impeccable Linda Evangelista. Although that Kirsten Dunst one is pretty cool.

And don’t even ask me what is going on with Keira Knightley in hers, because I have no idea.
