Have you guys ever done a mud run? Toby and I are getting ready to do the Camp Pendleton mud run with my dad in two weeks, and I’m pretty excited about it. I actually did do the mud run at Camp Lejeune a few years ago, wherein I had to low-crawl through the mud, wade through chest-deep muddy water, climb up and down muddy (and slippery!) hills in the woods, but Toby was deployed at the time, so I did it by myself. I think doing obstacle races with at least one other person is a little more fun, don’t you?

One race I have been interested in but haven’t tried yet is the Spartan Race. It involves all sorts of obstacles — from leaping over fire and climbing ropes to scaling walls and flipping tires — and there are races in all different distances, from 5K to 20K+, so you can try it out whether your fitness is Jen-level or Scott-level.

Anyway, the Spartan Race team has added a ton of new races this year, including several international races, a few in Hawaii and a stadium race in Philadelphia! So when they contacted me about giving away a free entry into one of their races, I was all about it. I hope you guys are, too.
